As part of efforts towards advancing institutional goals through benchmarking, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has partnered with the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Ghana, on innovative strategies for achieving sound archival, library and gallery management.
The Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede disclosed this collaboration at an expanded meeting of the management of the Board held on Friday, 10th July, 2026, which also has delegation from the university in attendance.
Already, the Board has concluded arrangements to construct a befitting archives, library and gallery at the Board’s National Headquarters, Abuja, following the report of a visitation team headed by the Director, Quality Assurance, Hon. Danladi Muhammed, to the University of Cape Coast, Ghana.
The Registrar, while conducting the delegation from the university on a tour of facility of the current Board’s library and its intended location, expected to house the Archives, Library and Gallery when completed, said JAMB had established its in- house Archives about four year earlier, which would now be upgraded in due course.
He said the Board had invited the National Archives, Nigeria, to set it up and was then subsequently moved to the Test Development Complex under the supervision of Quality Assurance Department noting that the ongoing collaboration with the university is meant to upgrade the facility in line with global best practice, hence the decision to move it to a more befitting location.
Prof. Oloyede also informed the delegation that their invitation was part of the existing inter-university partnership aimed at sharing ideas with the Board not that JAMB lacks ideas of what to do but it believes in the axiom that says two good heads are better than one.
Furthermore, he disclosed that the Board had two libraries, the academic one situated at the Test Development Department and the administrative one located at the Headquarters.
