LAGOS – The Lagos State Government has signed a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) concession agreement for the Business Process Automation of the Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA) and the operation and maintenance of the MyLagosApp as part of efforts to improve service delivery and digital governance.
The agreement was signed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi; the Permanent Secretary of the MVAA, Rasheed Muri-Okunola; the Special Adviser, Office of Public-Private Partnerships, Bukola Odoe; and representatives of the concessionaires.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, Osiyemi said the initiative is aimed at transforming vehicle registration services by automating key processes, eliminating bureaucratic bottlenecks, and ensuring faster, more efficient service delivery for residents.
He explained that the automation project would enhance operational efficiency within the Motor Vehicle Administration Agency while making vehicle registration and related services more accessible and user-friendly.
The Commissioner also noted that the concession agreement would strengthen the functionality of the MyLagosApp, enabling the platform to continue providing Lagos residents with timely traffic updates and other essential information on government activities and public services across the state.
In her remarks, Odoe urged the concessionaires to faithfully implement the terms of the agreement and deliver high-quality services that would improve the overall experience of Lagos residents.
The initiative forms part of the Lagos State Government’s commitment to leveraging technology and strategic public-private partnerships to modernise public services, improve transportation administration, and promote a smarter, more efficient digital ecosystem for residents.
