Former France international, Claude Makelele, has insisted that midfielder, Aurelien Tchouameni will be a very important player under Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho.
Makelele said this while speaking on Tchouameni’s future with the Los Blancos.
Tchouameni’s future at Real Madrid is still not clear ahead of the upcoming new season.
The French international was linked with a move away from Real Madrid this summer, especially after his fight with teammate Federico Valverde last season.
Also, the 26-year-old is said to have agreed to a contract extension with Madrid amid speculation of a potential exit.
However, speaking about Tchouameni’s future with Madrid, Makelele told DAZN that the player is the club’s only consistent player last season, suggesting that Mourinho would want to keep him at Santiago Bernabeu.
“Tchouameni’s renewal? Jose Mourinho is not stupid. Tchouameni was the only consistent player for Real Madrid last season from start to finish.
“He will be a key player in Mourinho’s project,” Makelele said (via @MadridXtra on X).
