Man’s iPhone 17 Pro Max Falls In Floodwaters While Attempting To Retrieve Swept Warehouse Goods

A young man has been left counting his losses after his iPhone 17 Pro Max fell into fast-moving floodwaters and went missing while he was attempting to retrieve items including toilet rolls, biscuits, and toffees that had been swept from a warehouse by this week’s flooding.

According to the account circulating on social media, the man waded toward the floodwaters to recover some of the goods displaced from the warehouse when his expensive device toppled into the current and was lost.

The incident adds an ironic dimension to the broader story of goods swept from warehouses during this week’s flooding disaster, in which residents across Accra were seen collecting provisions, toiletries, and other items carried along by floodwaters.

In this case, the attempt to retrieve relatively low-value items resulted in the loss of a significantly more expensive one.

The location of the incident corresponds with footage showing a warehouse facility alongside a heavily flooded channel, with a large accumulation of solid waste visible on the bank, a stark visual reminder of the role refuse dumping plays in worsening flood conditions across the city.
