Margaret Qualley & Jack Antonoff Are Reportedly ‘Done For Good’ As He Ditches Wedding Band

Jack Antonoff seems to be on the road to moving on from Margaret Qualley as his wedding band comes off!

Amid speculation about the producer and the actress’ chances of getting back together after their shocking split, Antonoff seems to be ready to let bygones be bygones.

Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley sparked speculation of a troubled marriage when the former attended Taylor Swift’s wedding without his wife’s company nearly three years after their own wedding in August 2023.

Insiders from the estranged couple’s camp have confirmed that they have no plans to reconcile, adding: “Although they are done for good, they are still communicating and being respectful of one another.” This revelation followed the producer’s recent sighting in Brooklyn Heights by DeuxMoi with his sister, Rachel, without his wedding ring.

Sources behind the scenes have also stated that the split has presented itself as a very difficult situation because the end of the relationship was far from what Antonoff envisaged.

Just weeks ago, Antonoff pulled off the no-ring look while he attended Swift’s wedding at Madison Square Garden. Although there had been speculation that Qualley skipped the event because of filming commitments, a source explained that she had already wrapped “King Snake” in June and was not scheduled to begin work on “Possession” until later.

Fans also noticed that the actress had deleted almost all traces of Antonoff from her Instagram, including their marriage pictures and almost all pictures with him. Page Six reported that the only remaining post is a candid photo of the couple laughing together that she shared last February.

Despite the social media cleanup, the former couple still follows each other online. Qualley and Antonoff last appeared together publicly at the Grammy Awards in February.

Qualley Only Recently Made An Appearance After The Split Went Viral

Following her reported breakup from Antonoff, Qualley redirected all her energy into her television career. One of her first stops was on the set of “Possession,” Paramount Pictures’ remake of the 1981 horror cult classic, where she appeared composed and ready for her scenes.

As shared by The Blast, between takes, Qualley kept to herself with music playing through wired earphones before slipping into character. Dressed in a sleek black bodysuit paired with a flowing chiffon skirt, tights, and loafers, she later filmed an emotionally charged sequence in which her character rushed out of the fictional Park View Cafe looking visibly shaken.

The outing marks Qualley’s first public appearance since news broke that she and Antonoff had ended their marriage, just weeks before what would have been their third wedding anniversary. The two couples have been dating since 2021, and they wed in a private yet celebrity-attended wedding ceremony in 2023. However, they have at times written moving letters about the other publicly.

Antonoff has also gotten busy with his band, “The Bleachers,” as they prepare to headline the Shadow of the City Festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey, on August 28. Fans also noticed that the band recently dropped Lana Del Rey’s “Margaret,” a love song Antonoff helped write about Qualley, from its live setlist.

The producer and his estranged wife’s relationship appeared to have moved quickly from the jump. Antonoff and Qualley began dating in 2021, got engaged less than a year later, and tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony in 2023, keeping the rest of their romance private since then.

Now that they are reportedly headed for a divorce, narratives have begun to spin about things that could have gone wrong in the union. According to a source, fundamental differences in personality drove the final nail into the coffin for the estranged couple.

While Qualley always tried her best to see the good in people at all times thanks to her warm and upbeat personality, Antonoff comes across as more stern and serious. These stark differences did very little to keep their bond in place, and now, barely three years into the marriage, they have decided to proceed with life separately.

Trust issues may have also played a role in the split, as their busy schedules and distance did not help their hearts grow fonder for each other; instead, it left a festering wound in the marriage.

The actress, before news of their split broke, talked openly about how much Antonoff had changed her life. In a previous interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Qualley revealed that before meeting the songwriter, she rarely put down roots.

As noted by The Blast, the 31-year-old’s whole life involved moving from one sparsely furnished apartment to another while pouring all of her energy into acting. Meeting Antonoff, however, shifted her priorities.

He inspired her to create a home, rather than just a place to stay, leaving her with a burning urge to share all aspects of her life with him, including raising a family someday. Those aspirations have come to be sharply at odds with reports that the couple’s busy professions slowly tore them apart.

Insiders stated that Antonoff spent a lot of this year touring with “The Bleachers,” while Qualley was busy on set, and their lives became more and more separate. A source also claimed the actress grew frustrated that Antonoff consistently put his music career ahead of their marriage.

The insider added that the emotional distance between them only widened over time, with little effort made to repair the relationship. Eventually, Qualley reportedly reached her breaking point.

In her Vanity Fair cover story, Qualley had revealed that growing up in Hollywood left her afraid to embrace who she was fully. As a young actress, she feared being judged by women and mistreated by men, causing her to hide parts of her personality and femininity.

With time, this evolved, and no other person than Antonoff gave her the confidence to feel more comfortable in her own skin and encouraged her to embrace every part of herself. She continued that her now estranged husband was among the people and things she loved best, along with her family, her favorite books, and anything he made.

Their romance began after Qualley’s sister, Rainey, introduced the pair at a party after learning Antonoff was hoping to find lasting love. According to the actress, their connection was immediate as they struck up a conversation that never seemed to end. She later described falling in love with Antonoff as the most intense feeling she had ever experienced.

Qualley also shared that Antonoff was the first to say “I love you,” explaining that she was too traditional to make the first move herself. Once they married, however, she said the two were in constant communication, affectionately describing her husband as her “human diary” because they talked about everything throughout the day.
