Creativity is often a reflection of talent rather than personality. That perfectly describes Abdul Latif Musah, popularly known as MUSAH, whose hilarious comedy skits have made him one of Ghana’s fastest-rising social media content creators despite his naturally shy personality.
Born and raised in Kumasi, Ghana, MUSAH grew up in a Muslim household. He pursued his education at Kumasi Technical Institution before furthering his studies in media, a journey that would later shape his career as a digital creator.
Although reserved by nature, MUSAH discovered he had a unique ability to make people laugh. His content creation journey began in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, when TikTok emerged as one of the world’s fastest-growing social media platforms. Inspired by established Ghanaian entertainers, including Kwadwo Nkansah, Emmaifyeni, and Jackline Mensah, he started producing comedy skits.
His early videos attracted little engagement, but instead of giving up, MUSAH refined his approach by developing a distinctive style that resonated with audiences. His creativity, consistency and originality soon earned him a growing fan base across social media.
Like many digital creators, his rise was not without challenges. Cyberbullying became one of the biggest obstacles he had to overcome. However, he remained focused on his passion and gradually turned criticism into motivation.
Reflecting on his journey, MUSAH said: “Cyberbullying was my first challenge, which I overcame with time. In my journey of content creation, I have achieved a lot in terms of financial success, popularity, and fame. There are many challenges, such as hardly having free time because millions of people are waiting for new content. But the good part is that it paves the way for more fame and more opportunities.”
Interestingly, his parents were initially unaware of his venture into entertainment until they saw him featured on television, a moment that made them realise the impact he was making.
Despite his growing success, MUSAH remains focused on achieving even greater heights.
“I feel proud of myself for coming this far because content creation is not easy, but I fought for it and for the fame. I still haven’t reached my goal, but I’m super proud of my achievements.”
One of the defining features of MUSAH’s comedy is his portrayal of female characters, which has become a signature element of his skits.
Explaining the inspiration behind the concept, he said: “The idea of dressing as a lady is because ladies have funny characters. Dressing as a lady to portray those characters was the aim, and I knew I could do it perfectly.”
Today, MUSAH has successfully transformed his talent into a thriving career, earning recognition, financial rewards and a loyal audience. His journey from a shy young man in Kumasi to one of Ghana’s most entertaining digital creators reflects the power of resilience, creativity and consistency.
With his ever-growing fan base and unwavering determination, MUSAH is poised to make an even greater impact on Ghana’s entertainment industry and beyond.
