NEMA, ADSEMA Continue With Relief Distribution, Food Items To IDP Inmates In Adamawa

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in collaboration with the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA), is continuing the distribution of relief food items to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and vulnerable households in camps and host communities across Yola South and Girei Local Government Areas of Adamawa State.

The intervention targets 1,000 households and is aimed at providing immediate humanitarian assistance to vulnerable persons affected by displacement in the state.

On Thursday, 9 July 2026, relief materials were successfully distributed to beneficiaries at Salama Resettlement Camp, Malkohi IDP Camp, Fufore IDP Camp, and Damare Host Community in Girei Local Government Area.

The exercise was conducted in line with NEMA’s approved distribution and sharing formula, ensuring transparency, equity, accountability, and fairness throughout the process.

The distribution exercise continued today with an official flag-off ceremony held at the NEMA Yola Operations Office. The exercise was led by the Head of NEMA Yola Operations Office, Mr Ladan Ayuba, while the Executive Secretary of ADSEMA, Mrs Celine Laori, was represented by Mr Nabi Tarfa.

During today’s exercise, beneficiaries from Ngurore, Saminaka, Budde, Hollere, and Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWDs) received their relief food items at the NEMA Yola Operations Office premises.

Speaking during the flag-off ceremony, Mr Ladan Ayuba reaffirmed NEMA’s commitment to ensuring that relief assistance reaches vulnerable disaster-affected persons promptly, transparently, and in accordance with established procedures.

He commended the collaboration between NEMA and ADSEMA and assured beneficiaries of the Agency’s continued commitment to supporting disaster-affected communities.

The joint intervention by NEMA and ADSEMA demonstrates the unwavering commitment of the Federal Government and the Adamawa State Government to alleviating the suffering of displaced persons and strengthening humanitarian support for vulnerable populations. Beneficiaries expressed profound appreciation to NEMA, the Adamawa State Government, and the Federal Government for the timely intervention, noting that the relief assistance would go a long way in easing their hardship.
