Nigerian Army Finance Accounts Unit Rounds Off 2026 Training Week

The Finance and Accounts Department, Headquarters Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA), has concluded its 2026 Training Week, held from 15 to 17 July 2026 at the Minna Military Cantonment, Niger State.

The event, themed “Enhancing Personnel Performance and Digital Financial Services in Support of Nigerian Army Operations,” focused on strengthening personnel capacity and improving financial service delivery in support of training and operations.

Declaring the Training Week open on behalf of the Commander TRADOC NA, Major General Peter Malla, the Director, Army Training Support Centre and Lessons Learnt, Major General Mohammed Babayo, described finance as the backbone of military readiness.

He noted that the training would provide a platform for participants to exchange ideas, develop innovative strategies, and enhance the effectiveness of the Nigerian Army Finance Corps.

Earlier, the Commander, TRADOC NA Finance and Accounts, Colonel Godwin Ubani, said the training was aimed at improving personnel performance and advancing digital financial services.

In his goodwill message, the Chief of Accounts and Budget (Army), Major General Taofik Sidick, stated that the training aligns with the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy of building a more professional, adaptable, combat-ready and resilient force.

He emphasised that sustained capacity building remains essential for meeting contemporary operational and administrative demands.

The programme featured lectures by resource persons from the military, public and private sectors on topics including substance abuse, public sector tax reforms, and emerging technologies for smart financial service delivery.

Represented at the closing ceremony by Brigadier General Adamu Kitchener, Director of Army Pensions, Military Pensions Board, Major General Sidick commended the Commander TRADOC NA for his support and urged participants to apply the knowledge gained in delivering efficient and accountable financial services that enhance troop morale and mission success.

The event was attended by officers, soldiers, consultants and representatives of relevant military and civilian institutions, including the Central Bank of Nigeria, Zenith Bank Plc, and the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons.
