Hundreds of Palestinians in Gaza have celebrated the Spanish national team’s crowning as the 2026 World Cup champions after their winning goal against Argentina secured the second title in the country’s history.
Hundreds of people gathered in areas dominated by scenes of destruction, more than two years after the start of the genocidal war carried out by Israel in the enclave.
Palestinians launched slogans of welcome and celebration for the victory of the Spanish team.
Meanwhile, the Spanish crowds did not forget Palestine during their own festivities.
