POLAC Commandant Marks Birthday and Wedding Anniversary at Send-Forth Thanksgiving

The All Saints Chapel of the Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC) hosted a send-forth thanksgiving service in honour of the academy’s 24th Commandant, Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Patrick Adedeji Atayero.The service, held as part of activities marking the end of Atayero’s tenure, also coincided with his birthday and wedding anniversary, which he celebrated alongside his wife, family members and colleagues.
In his valedictory address, Atayero expressed appreciation to the 22nd Indigenous Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, and the current 23rd Indigenous Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for their support during his tenure. He emphasised the importance of unity and mutual respect among members of the academy community, urging Muslims and Christians to promote peaceful coexistence.
Atayero also commended the loyalty and support of the academy’s professional and academic wings and encouraged cadets to uphold their values and remain committed to their faith.The thanksgiving service followed a reception hosted by the Ijesha Progressive Union, Kano Branch, and marked the beginning of a week-long programme of farewell activities.
The activities include a valedictory expanded POLAC management meeting, a badminton tournament, a novelty match between the academic and professional wings, and a symposium.The programme is expected to culminate in an official pull-out parade ceremony scheduled for Monday, July 27.
