Palestinian and Israeli human rights organizations say they have documented a growing number of incidents in which Israeli soldiers have stolen money, jewellery and other personal belongings during military raids on Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank.
According to testimonies collected by rights groups, incidents reported during Israeli military searches increasingly involve not only arrests and property damage but also the disappearance of cash, gold jewellery and other valuables.
The organizations say the number of such allegations has risen significantly since October 2023, while victims report that complaints have not resulted in the return of their property or disciplinary action.
Human rights groups state they have documented hundreds of cases in which Palestinian families reported discovering money, jewellery or other valuables missing after Israeli soldiers completed searches of their homes.
According to the organizations, Israeli authorities have often responded that seized money was confiscated for security reasons, suspected links to terrorist financing or as part of operational procedures. In other cases, officials have reportedly attributed the incidents to misunderstandings or errors during searches.
Rights groups argue that these explanations do not account for theft involving personal jewellery, children’s savings or valuables intended for family occasions.

One Palestinian woman, speaking anonymously to Quds Press, said Israeli soldiers entered her family’s home while preparations were underway for her daughter’s wedding and took the bride’s gold jewellery along with cash kept inside the house.
She said many families in her neighbourhood had experienced similar incidents but were reluctant to speak publicly for fear of possible repercussions if relatives were later detained.
Human rights researchers say many victims have submitted complaints through official channels, but none of the documented cases they have followed has resulted in the recovery of the missing property.
According to the organizations, the absence of accountability has contributed to a growing perception among Palestinians that such incidents occur without effective oversight.
They also note that repeated military raids and extensive house searches have created conditions in which allegations of theft continue to emerge across the West Bank.
The Israeli military has not publicly responded to the specific allegations cited in the report.
