Nollywood veteran Richard Mofe Damijo, popularly known as RMD, has opened up about life at 65, revealing that he feels as though he is living on borrowed time, having outlived both his parents, who did not reach 60.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Moraya Show, the movie icon described his life as one defined by gratitude, saying he feels fortunate to be alive and Nigerian at a time when more people around the world are self-employed than ever before.
Asked about the secret behind his youthful appearance and energy at 65, RMD attributed it to eating well and staying active through exercise.
He also referenced advice from an older mentor, explaining that the key to staying young lies in never letting the “old person” take over one’s mindset.
He said he holds firmly to that philosophy, which is why he continues to dress fashionably rather than in a manner typically associated with older age, even joking that his 43-year-old first child still reacts with mild disapproval whenever he steps out dressed a certain way.
He, however, insisted he has no plans of slowing down or giving up on his sense of style.
