SELHAYA Celebrates Ooni’s Wife, Olori Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi, As First Official Royal Patron

Her Regal Majesty Queen (Ambassador) Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi, wife of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan-Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has been named the inaugural Official Royal Patron of SELHAYA, a high-end silk Maison established in London by Aisha Hossain and Sajjad Choudhury.

This appointment is a significant milestone for the London-based fashion house, reflecting its commitment to craftsmanship, cultural heritage, charitable work, and everlasting elegance through silk.

Sharing her joy regarding the appointment, Queen Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi described this partnership as deeply embedded in history, tradition, and intentionality.

“Authentic luxury is not defined by our attire, but by the legacy we create. As the Official Royal Patron of SELHAYA®, I proudly support a House that transforms silk into heritage, craftsmanship into culture, and elegance into a timeless legacy,” she stated.

To celebrate the announcement, the Queen was photographed clad in The Coronation, a silk creation adorned with gold, crystals, and pearls from SELHAYA’s Royal Collection. Designed as a homage to contemporary royalty, this ceremonial garment showcases the Maison’s signature approach of intertwining cultural narratives, refined art, and remarkable craftsmanship.

The designation follows Her Regal Majesty’s role as Guest of Honour at the first SELHAYA Royal Cultural Salon, held at Mansion House in the City of London on June 27, 2026.

This exclusive event gathered prominent figures from fashion, luxury, culture, philanthropy, entrepreneurship, and the arts, coming together to honor silk craftsmanship, heritage, and lasting impact.

Notable moments of the event featured the presentation of SELHAYA’s ceremonial silk pieces, the reveal of the Maison’s debut collection of silk artworks framed, and a keynote speech delivered by Queen Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi, who addressed the interconnectedness of fashion, identity, and cultural preservation.

In acknowledgement of her advocacy, SELHAYA gifted the Queen with The Sovereign Jewel, an original artisan silk artwork delicately crafted on gold taffeta silk and adorned with over 800 individually embroidered crystals. This custom piece symbolises appreciation, mutual respect, and a shared goal of promoting cultural excellence, marking the Maison’s transition from creating wearable silk items to developing collectable silk artworks.

As Official Royal Patron, Queen Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi, who serves as the Deputy Convener of the Hopesalive Initiative of Africa, a charitable and humanitarian NGO of the Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan-Ogunwusi, will enhance SELHAYA’s mission to elevate craftsmanship, empower women, safeguard cultural heritage, and advocate for philanthropy through the enduring medium of silk.

This designation signifies an important achievement in SELHAYA’s development as a British luxury Maison that is widening its international influence while pledging to produce beauty with significance, honour heritage, and establish a lasting legacy.
