Nigeria’s Super Falcons have collected the house documents and national honours certificates the Federal Government promised them after their record 10th WAFCON triumph.
The Super Falcons stunned the football world last year, storming back from two goals down to beat hosts Morocco 3-2 in the final and extend their dominance of the continental championship.
National Sports Commission Chairman Shehu Dikko led the presentation alongside NFF General Secretary Dr Mohammed Sanusi, handing captain Rasheedat Ajibade and her teammates parcels containing title deeds for the three-bedroom houses and certificates confirming their national honours.

The NFF confirmed the handover in a post on X, stating that Dikko and Sanusi presented the “2025 WAFCON triumph rewards promised by the FGN to the Super Falcons” during a ceremony in Rabat on Tuesday.
President Bola Tinubu unveiled the reward package immediately after the historic win, pledging $100,000 for each player, $50,000 for every member of the technical crew and backroom staff, a three-bedroom house per team member, and the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger.
Authorities cleared the cash payments soon after completing administrative processes, but they held back the housing documents and honours certificates until the squad reassembled in Morocco for this year’s title defence.
Dikko explained that officials deliberately timed the ceremony to coincide with camp assembly ahead of WAFCON 2026. “I am leaving Glasgow for Morocco this week to present keys to the houses, which His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, promised the Super Falcons after they won the last edition of the WAFCON. Even their $100,000 has been paid into their various bank accounts,” he said.
He added that gathering the players together for the presentation would lift morale heading into the defence of their crown.
Super Falcons face a stiffer test against Zambia on Saturday, August 1, before closing out Group C against Egypt on Wednesday, August 5, at the Olympic Stadium.
A semi-final finish would also seal Nigeria a ticket to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, raising the stakes well beyond a record 11th continental crown.
