Taraba Governor Agbu Kefas Reaffirms Commitment to Education at College of Education Zing Convocation

Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving education through sustained investment in tertiary institutions, infrastructure and policies aimed at promoting academic excellence and human capital development.
The governor made the pledge at the 2024/2025 Combined Convocation Ceremony of the College of Education, Zing, where he was represented by the Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. John Kizito Bonzena.
Speaking on behalf of the governor, Bonzena said education remains a key priority of the administration, adding that efforts would continue to expand access to quality education and provide an enabling environment for teaching, learning and research. “Education is the bedrock of every progressive society. Our administration will continue to invest in the sector because the future of Taraba depends on the quality of education we provide today,” he said.
Bonzena congratulated the graduating students and encouraged them to uphold integrity, professionalism and a commitment to national development. He also commended the management, governing council and staff of the College of Education, Zing, for their contributions to teacher education and academic excellence.
The convocation was attended by government officials, lawmakers, traditional rulers, academics, alumni, parents and other education stakeholders, including the Secretary to the State Government, Chief GeeTee Kataps Ngwii, Commissioner for Tertiary Education Dr. Mike Dio Jen, and the Provost of the College of Education, Zing, Prof. Ejika Sambo. The ceremony celebrated the graduation of students across various academic programmes and highlighted the state’s focus on education as a driver of sustainable development.
