Taraba Governor Agbu Kefas Swears In Political Appointees, Calls for Accountable Governance

Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has inaugurated a new set of political appointees, urging them to uphold integrity, accountability and professionalism in the discharge of their responsibilities.The swearing-in ceremony took place on Monday at the Banquet Hall of the TY Danjuma House in Jalingo.

Those inaugurated include the Chairman and members of the Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission (TSIEC), the Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, a Commissioner of the Local Government Service Commission, members of the State Anti-Corruption Commission, as well as Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants.

Speaking after administering the oath of office, Governor Kefas described public office as a trust that requires honesty, discipline and commitment to public service.”The oath you have taken today is a solemn commitment to serve the people faithfully. Your appointments are a call to responsibility, and the people of Taraba expect integrity, competence and measurable results,” the governor said.

He urged the TSIEC leadership to uphold independence, fairness and transparency, while directing the Local Government Service Commission to strengthen grassroots administration. He also tasked the State Anti-Corruption Commission with carrying out its mandate impartially and encouraged his aides to provide innovative policy support and maintain close engagement with citizens.

Responding on behalf of the appointees, TSIEC Chairman Job Bala Aji thanked the governor for the appointments and pledged that the officials would carry out their duties diligently, uphold the rule of law and contribute to good governance in Taraba State. The inauguration was attended by senior government officials, political leaders, traditional rulers, members of the diplomatic and business communities, and supporters of the newly appointed officials.
