Two Die As Motorcycle Collides With Vehicle In Ogun

Two persons, a man and a woman, lost their lives after a motorcycle collided with a Dongfeng pickup vehicle at Koto Ajala, inbound Owode, in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State on Monday.

The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) attributed the crash to excessive speed and loss of control by the motorcyclist.

The agency’s spokesperson, Babatunde Akinbiyi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday, explaining that the rider reportedly lost control while descending Koto Ajala outbound Owode before crashing into the oncoming pickup.

According to him, the motorcycle, with registration number FFF 689 HA, rammed into the Dongfeng pickup bearing registration number GGE 200 KP.

He said both occupants of the motorcycle died in the crash, while no other injuries were recorded.

Akinbiyi stated, “The motorcycle, with registration number FFF 689 HA, collided with the Dongfeng pickup bearing registration number GGE 200 KP.

“The crash claimed the lives of the two occupants of the motorcycle, while no other injuries were recorded.

“FRSC officials evacuated the bodies to the Fakoya Hospital Morgue in Sagamu.”

He added that the damaged motorcycle and the pickup had been taken to the police station in the area for further investigation.

Akinbiyi further stated, “Traffic was partially affected immediately after the crash but normalcy has since been restored on the route following traffic management by TRACE and FRSC officials.”
