Woman Who Claims To Make N2.5m Monthly From Corn Business Retracts Statement, Apologises To Nigerians
The woman who recently went viral after claiming she earns N2.5 million monthly from her roasted corn business has publicly withdrawn the statement, admitting that she exaggerated her earnings.
In a fresh video shared on social media, the woman appealed to Nigerians for understanding, saying her earlier claim was inaccurate.
“Nigerians, don’t be angry. Since I started this corn business, I’ve never made that kind of money,” she said.
It would be recalled that the woman had claimed her roadside roasted corn business brought in millions of naira monthly.
The story quickly gained traction, especially coming after the First Lady, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu, said Nigerians can start business with little capital and make it big.
The woman’s claim generated reactions with many social media users celebrating it as proof that small businesses could be highly profitable, while others questioned the authenticity of the figures.
However, her latest admission has changed the narrative, with many users describing it as a reminder of the dangers of exaggerating success stories on social media.
The woman did not explain what prompted her earlier claim but insisted she had never made the amount she previously stated, urging Nigerians not to hold the statement against her.
