FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has predicted a broader political coalition in support of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election, following Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke’s visit to Abuja.

Adeleke, who recently secured re-election in the August 15 Osun governorship election on the platform of the Accord Party, visited President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa on Thursday before meeting Wike. The governor reportedly presented his Certificate of Return during his Abuja engagements.

Speaking on the political developments, Wike said Nigerians should expect a bigger “rainbow coalition” backing Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.

“Governor Adeleke’s visit signals a bigger Pro-Tinubu coalition ahead of the 2027 Presidential Election.”

Wike’s comments come days after he argued that Adeleke’s victory in Osun should not be interpreted as a defeat for Tinubu, maintaining that the election was conducted freely and fairly. He also predicted that Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid would be easier than his 2023 campaign.

Adeleke, however, has said he is not currently considering a return to the All Progressives Congress despite his willingness to work with people aligned with Tinubu when their efforts are focused on the development of Osun State.
