Popular snake catcher Denzel Ncube has reportedly been bitten by a huge Southern African python while attempting to capture the reptile and educate bystanders about the animal.
According to reports, Ncube encountered the 5.3-metre python in Thabazimbi, Limpopo, South Africa, after residents raised concerns about the giant snake that had been spotted in the area.
The python had reportedly become a source of fear among community members, with residents claiming that several attempts had previously been made by other snake catchers to capture it without success.
The massive reptile was discovered by a yard owner who was clearing an area while preparing for a house.
Some residents alleged that the python had earlier swallowed a dog, increasing concerns about its presence in the community.
During the capture operation, Ncube was bitten by the snake while handling it. Despite the frightening encounter, he remained calm and successfully secured the python.
After the successful rescue, the snake was reportedly relocated to a suitable bush area away from homes and residents to prevent further conflict between humans and wildlife.
The incident has since attracted attention online, with many praising the snake catcher’s bravery and dedication to protecting both communities and wildlife.
