Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia has blamed poor parenting for some of the problems and violence seen in society today.
In a social media post, the actress spoke against domestic violence and the use of physical punishment to discipline children.
Etinosa said some parents unknowingly teach their children that violence is acceptable. She noted that some women stayed in abusive marriages in the past, which she believes may have made their sons see violence as normal.
She also criticised parents who believe beating is the best way to correct a child, saying such methods can encourage children to become violent.
According to the actress, the younger generation has a responsibility to break the cycle by raising children without violence and teaching them better ways to handle disagreements.
She urged parents to choose healthier forms of discipline and help create a society where abuse is not seen as normal.
