Adeleke Now With Oppressors After Death Of Supporters — Isaac Fayose

Nigerian businessman and social commentator, Isaac Fayose, has criticised Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, over his decision to engage with leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, following the August 15 governorship election in the state.

Fayose questioned why Adeleke would align with APC leaders despite allegations that about 29 of his supporters were killed during the election campaign and voting exercise.

Ahead of the election, Adeleke, who contested under the Accord Party, had alleged that suspected APC thugs were responsible for the deaths of some of his supporters.

The APC, however, denied the allegation and countered that thugs allegedly linked to Adeleke killed more than 20 of its supporters.

Despite the accusations by both parties, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared Adeleke the winner of the election.

However, shortly after his victory, Adeleke met with several APC stakeholders, including President Bola Tinubu, a development that unsettled some of his supporters and prompted questions about his political engagements.

Reacting in a post on his official Facebook page, Fayose wondered why Adeleke was now associating with those he described as his alleged oppressors.

He said, “29 people died fighting for Adeleke, and the same Adeleke is now with the oppressors. What a country!

“There are counter-allegations from both the APC and the Accord Party. Davido’s father said the APC spent N60 billion, while Ayo Fayose also came out to say that the Accord Party spent N40 billion on the election.

“This means that both parties spent N100 billion on the governorship election. If you shared that N100 billion among the people, do you know how many lives you would touch? And this is taxpayers’ money.”
