Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has finally opened up about the alleged reason behind his long-running feud with fellow rapper Odumodublvck, revealing that the dispute reportedly began over a woman they were both romantically involved with.
The revelation comes more than a year after the two Nigerian music stars began exchanging shots publicly, with Odumodublvck previously insisting that their disagreement went beyond a normal music rivalry.
The feud has attracted significant attention among Nigerian hip-hop fans, particularly because both artistes have established themselves as prominent voices in the country’s new generation of rap music.
In June 2025, Blaqbonez released a diss song directed at Odumodublvck. Responding on X, Odumodublvck suggested that the matter was not simply a rap beef, warning that their disagreement extended beyond music.
The controversy intensified in June 2026 when Odumodublvck made a series of allegations against Blaqbonez, including accusations of sexual abuse and claims that members of the entertainment industry were allegedly protecting his colleague.
Blaqbonez has now offered his version of events, explaining that the disagreement allegedly started after he discovered that he and Odumodublvck had been involved with the same woman around the same period.
According to the rapper, he initially had no knowledge that the woman was also involved with Odumodublvck.
“Odumodu and I were with a girl at the same time, but I didn’t know she was with him too around the same time we met.”
Speaking during a video interview with media personality Rufai Oseni, Blaqbonez explained that the situation became complicated after the woman allegedly sent him a message that he considered unusual.
He said the woman subsequently contacted his manager and allegedly threatened to damage his career.
Blaqbonez said Odumodublvck later contacted him, accusing him of disturbing the woman, whom the rapper described as his partner.
According to Blaqbonez, he was confused by the accusation because he believed his relationship with the woman had already ended.
He explained that he had contacted the woman after receiving what he described as a strange message from her. After she failed to answer his calls, he said he blocked her and stopped communicating with her.
Blaqbonez further claimed that he eventually discovered that Odumodublvck was the person involved with the woman.
“When I found out it was you, I didn’t speak with her again since then. I have avoided the girl,” he explained.
The rapper also recounted an exchange in which Odumodublvck allegedly asked him when he last had sexual intercourse with the woman.
Blaqbonez said he deliberately avoided answering the question because he did not want to interfere with whatever relationship existed between Odumodublvck and the woman.
He said his refusal to provide the information reportedly caused further tension between them.
“Odumodublvck now said then we’re enemies since you’re not telling me,” Blaqbonez recounted.
The rapper also clarified the nature of his own relationship with the woman, stressing that he never considered her his official girlfriend.
“I can’t say she’s my girlfriend because we didn’t make it official,” he said.
Instead, Blaqbonez described their relationship as “friends with benefits”, explaining that they were friends who were also intimate.
The revelation has added another dimension to the highly publicised Blaqbonez and Odumodublvck feud, which had previously been viewed by many fans as a typical Nigerian rap rivalry.
Their disagreement has generated discussions about competition within the Nigerian hip-hop scene, personal relationships among entertainers and the extent to which private disagreements can spill into public entertainment battles.
While Blaqbonez has now provided his account of what he believes triggered the conflict, Odumodublvck’s previous allegations remain separate claims and have not been independently established by the account provided.
The latest revelation is likely to generate fresh reactions from fans of both rappers, particularly as supporters continue to debate the origins of their fallout and whether the disagreement should have escalated into a public feud.
