Chelsea shook off a string of pre-season defeats to dismantle AC Milan 3-0 in Jakarta on Saturday, lifting the 2026 Indonesia Super Cup as Joao Pedro struck twice and Moises Caicedo added a stunning third.
Enzo Maresca’s side had struggled for results in the build-up to the new campaign, but they produced a commanding performance against Milan to seal silverware ahead of the season proper.
Joao Pedro broke the deadlock in first-half stoppage time, meeting Caicedo’s corner and glancing a header beyond Milan goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani to send Chelsea into the break in front.
The Brazilian doubled his side’s lead moments after the restart. Pedro Neto shifted the ball onto his left foot before whipping a cross toward the back post, where Joao Pedro lost his marker and guided the ball home to complete his brace.

Caicedo then put the game beyond Milan’s reach in the 50th minute, curling a spectacular outside-of-the-boot volley into the corner. Romeo Lavia supplied the assist, steering the ball to the edge of the box from another corner for the Ecuadorian to finish with style.
Milan’s manager responded by making a raft of half-time substitutions in search of a way back into the contest, but Chelsea kept their foot down and continued carving out chances.
Cole Palmer tested Torriani again with a strike from 18 yards, while Nicolas Jackson, sent on alongside Geovany Quenda after the break, went close and rattled the post following a driving run into the Milan penalty area.
Chelsea named a strong starting line-up for the final, with Robert Sanchez between the posts behind a back four of Josh Acheampong, Wesley Fofana, Jorrel Hato and Marco Palestra. Caicedo skippered the side alongside Lavia in midfield, while Palmer, Joao Pedro, Neto and Danny Welbeck spearheaded the attack.
The victory hands Chelsea their first piece of silverware of the 2026-27 pre-season and offers a timely confidence boost after a run of disappointing warm-up results. It also marks the club’s first appearance in the Indonesia Super Cup, a fixture increasingly used by European clubs to expand their footprint in Southeast Asia during pre-season tours.
