Two Nigerian singers have publicly disagreed on social media over an unreleased song they worked on together called “Come My Way”.
Davido said during a podcast interview that the collaboration was shelved because of disagreements over how the song should be released.
He explained that Wande Coal initially asked him to feature on the track, and he recorded his verse.
However, when Wande Coal wanted to release the original version first and then use Davido’s contribution as a remix, Davido objected.
He said he had not written his verse with the intention of it being a remix, so the disagreement over the release plan led to the song never being released.
Wande Coal disputed Davido’s version of events on social media.
He said the song already had a release plan and date before the disagreement happened.
He questioned why Davido wanted to dictate how the song should be released when it was not originally his project.
Wande Coal also pointed out that the song performed well without Davido’s verse, suggesting that the collaboration’s failure was not due to his release strategy.
The two exchanged more words on social media as the disagreement continued.
However, fans and music industry observers have urged both artists to stop the public dispute and move on.
