The Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, has commended the chairman of Oshimili South local government area, Hon. Kelvin Obi, for inaugurating a new administrative complex to improve governance and public service delivery.
Azinge, who spoke at the commissioning of the Elder Sheriff Oborevwori Administrative Complex at the LGA Secretariat, described the project as a demonstration of purposeful leadership and a significant contribution to grassroots development.
Represented by the Delta State deputy governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, the monarch recalled the 1976 Local Government Reforms, noting that the new facility would strengthen governance by bringing essential services closer to the people.
He particularly praised the council for accommodating several national government agencies in the complex, saying the development would address office accommodation challenges and enhance their operations in Asaba.
Azinge also commended Obi for naming the facility after Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, describing the gesture as a recognition of the governor’s developmental efforts across the state.
“Traditional rulers are expected to remain non-partisan. The Asaba community remained supportive of Governor Oborevwori and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The ongoing federal and state development projects, including the Benin-Asaba Expressway are glaring examples.
“This magnificent Administrative Complex is a testament to purposeful leadership and good governance,” Azinge said.
Onyeme congratulated the council chairman and urged him to sustain the pace of development before commissioning the administrative complex and the newly constructed Prof. Epiphany Azinge Lane on behalf of Governor Oborevwori.
Earlier, Obi highlighted projects executed during his second tenure and announced 10 free marriage registrations for residents.
