Family Decries Re-arrest Of Miyetti Allah Leader Bodejo

The family of the national president of MIyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, has faulted his re-arresting yesterday by the DSS following his release from detention by the EFCC.

Bodejo, who faces trial on alleged money laundering had been admitted on bail on July 20 by the Federal High Court in Abuja. He had however continued to remain in detention until his bail condition was met by his lawyers on Wednesday.

Speaking to newsmen on behalf of the family in Abuja yesterday, his wife, Hajiya Hauwa Muhammad Bodejo, said the court had presented a document to the EFCC to effect his release.

“And in return, the EFCC had communicated to his lawyers on Thursday night asking them to come forward along with the court officials for his release, scheduled on Friday.

“The information was passed to the court officials, who had however responded that they had no business going back to the anti-graft agency, since they had presented them a document regarding his bail condition’s perfection,” Hauwa, said.

“So, we went to the EFCC headquarters on Friday, where we discovered that he was already brought out from the detention, as they were just waiting for our presence to release him.

“But to our shock, as we were leaving the EFCC premises, officials of the DSS who we noticed around the EFCC gate rushed towards my husband, and suddenly whisked him away in the company of three vans,” Hauwa added.

The woman who reiterated the family’s demand for justice in the trial, further lamented the continued deterioration of her husband’s health condition, adding that his personal physician had been denied access to him since his earlier arrest which has run into three months.
