Adeleke urges Osun residents to heal, unite after re-election
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has called on residents to put the recently concluded governorship election behind them and unite for the development of the state.
Adeleke made the appeal in a message shared on his official page following his re-election, while thanking the people of Osun State for entrusting him with another mandate.
The governor described his victory as a collective achievement and said he accepted the renewed mandate with humility and a strong sense of responsibility.
“This victory belongs to all of us, and I accept this renewed mandate with humility and a deep sense of responsibility,” Adeleke said.
While celebrating his victory, Adeleke also remembered those who lost their lives in electoral violence recorded before the election.
He expressed condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims, saying their loss should not be forgotten amid the celebrations surrounding the election outcome.

“As we celebrate, we also remember the victims of electoral violence before the election. My heartfelt condolences go to their families and loved ones,” he said.
The governor thanked various groups across the state for their support, including traditional rulers, religious and community leaders, civil servants, pensioners, youths, women, artisans, traders and farmers.
He also appreciated other residents who supported his administration and contributed to the electoral process.
Adeleke urged residents to move beyond the political divisions created by the election and focus on the collective development of Osun State.
He said the next phase should be centred on healing, unity and building a stronger state.
“Together, let us heal, unite and continue building a greater Osun,” the governor added.
The governor’s message comes after his victory in the August 15 governorship election, in which he secured another term in office.
With the election now concluded, Adeleke is expected to focus on governance and the implementation of his administration’s programmes, while political parties and stakeholders begin the process of moving beyond the campaign season.
His call for reconciliation also comes amid concerns over incidents of violence recorded in parts of the state before the election, with calls for accountability and support for affected families.
By urging residents to heal and unite, Adeleke said the political contest should give way to collective efforts towards the progress and prosperity of Osun State.
