Gypsy-Rose Blanchard Doubles Down On Remorse For Using Racial Slur After She ‘Apologized Privately’
Gypsy-Rose Blanchard understands the value of accountability!
The media personality has now taken her apology for using racial slurs on her sister’s partner publicly, admitting that she does not encourage nor stand for racism.
Gypsy-Rose Blanchard became famous due to the 2015 murder of her mother, Claudine Blanchard, which was committed when she convinced her boyfriend to stab her mother to death to help her escape lifelong abuse.

The mother-of-one has now publicly registered her apology to her sister and her fiancé, André, after viral clips of her using the N-word in a conversation about André surfaced.
In the statement shared on her now-deleted TikTok account on Friday, August 21, Blanchard admitted that she used racist language and made cruel, disrespectful comments, including about some people close to her.
She accepted her wrongdoing and took full responsibility for the pain her choice of words had caused those affected. The apology trailed the circulation of multiple phone calls she made in prison, where she served time for second-degree murder for her role in her mother’s death in 2015, online.
Blanchard also made her remorse known to the Black community for using such demeaning words, as she assured the public that “she already privately apologized” to her sister, Mia, and her fiancé in the past; however, she has decided to also make it public.
“I understand forgiveness and reconciliation are not something I am owed. I respect whatever boundaries you need and accept that healing happens on your timeline, not mine,” the media personality stressed, as shared by US Weekly.
The Mother-Of-One Reiterated That She Is Now A Changed Person
Blanchard claimed that she has changed as a person since completing her sentence at the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Chillicothe, Missouri, in December 2023.
The media personality added that while her words are not enough to show how much she has worked on herself, she promised that her actions would reflect the point she has gotten to in life.
“I can’t go back and undo what I said. What I can do is acknowledge it fully, learn from it, and continue choosing to be better every single day,” Blanchard added.
In the viral clip, Gypsy was on a call with her former husband Ryan Anderson and their family members, and in one call she had joked about her sister’s dating history where she coupled up with Black men.
For context, André is a black man, and that made Blanchard’s comment extremely scandalous. The media personality eventually got rid of her TikTok account in the wake of the controversy that followed the revelation and her apology.
Gypsy-Rose Blanchard Shared A Heartwarming Moment In Her Parenting Journey
The social media personality shared some details about a special moment with her daughter, Aurora, recently. She revealed that she got to hear her daughter call her mommy for the first time, which was a big deal.
As noted by PEOPLE, the video captured the journey of Aurora attempting to pronounce the words “Mama” instead of “Dada” from when she was 4 months to finally acing the “Mommy” bit at 19 months.
An emotional Blanchard noted that the moment meant a lot to her because she did not get to experience so many special moments with her mother growing up.
While she was sure experiencing motherhood would change her worldview, she confessed she did not picture a simple world hitting such a poignant space in her heart.
Blanchard continued that becoming a mother has given her the opportunity to experience motherhood from the other side to make it mean love, safety, comfort, and home.
The 35-Year-Old Has Fiercely Protected The Identity Of Her Daughter
Blanchard, though very open about her life and experience since getting out of prison, has decided to keep the identity of her daughter private. She has avoided fully showing Aurora’s face and has opted to show intimate moments from behind or at angles that kept the toddler concealed.
As noted by The Blast, Blanchard even dispelled the reports of social accounts posting fake pictures of her daughter, clarifying that those were random babies and she would not be posting images of her daughter, nor would she share pictures of other babies.
She described keeping her daughter off the internet as an intentional parenting decision so as to protect her from the scrutiny of the public eye, as she is simply a minor who does not have the capacity to consent to her image being used.
Blanchard welcomed Aurora with her boyfriend, Ken Urker, in 2024, about a year after she was released in 2023 and got back together with him.
Gypsy-Rose Blanchard Was Slammed For Dark Humor About Her Late Mother

Earlier in the year, Blanchard had appeared alongside Natalie Reynold for a “We Listen We Don’t Judge” trend on TikTok. As noted by The Blast, the two women had shared their confessions, but this statement from Blanchard irritated so many commenters who attacked her for being insensitive.
In the video, Blanchard shared that she went to prison for eight years because of what she did to her mother (she had made an X sign with her hands to indicate the K word). The video earned millions of plays on TikTok as fans rushed into the comments to call her out for making a joke out of such a horrific moment.
Blanchard later reacted to the backlash, stating that she understood why people felt some way about the video, clarifying that it was the first time she had tried a more direct approach to revisit her past and take responsibility for her crimes. The 35-year-old gained a massive following since her release, authoring two books and even starring in a documentary series.
Will Gypsy-Rose Blanchard’s apology get accepted by the public?
