Gunmen Abduct 2 Passengers Along Plateau Highway

Two passengers have been abducted by gunmen who reportedly blocked the Bokkos–Barkin Ladi road in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident occurred at about 8:40pm on Friday, according to counter-insurgency publication Zagazola Makama.
Following a distress call, troops of Sector 4, Operation Enduring Peace, were deployed to the area.
The report said the troops, upon arrival, discovered that the attackers had mounted a roadblock and stopped a vehicle driven by Kollog Dakwan.
The gunmen allegedly forced two passengers out of the vehicle before fleeing into the surrounding bush.
The troops subsequently launched a search and rescue operation to locate the abducted passengers and track down the attackers.
However, the initial operation reportedly failed to establish contact with the suspects.
Security forces have continued efforts to rescue the victims and apprehend those responsible for the attack.
Patrols have also been intensified along the Bokkos–Barkin Ladi route and neighbouring communities to prevent further attacks and strengthen security in the area.
Security personnel are expected to work with local residents and rely on information from the community to help locate the victims and identify the fleeing assailants.
