“I Can Assure Nigerians That I Will Change This Country”- Peter Obi

  • Peter Obi, former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, emphasizes prioritizing Nigeria’s challenges over seeking approval.
  • He believes effective leadership involves making tough decisions that may not be popular.
  • Obi’s focus is on addressing critical issues facing Nigeria if elected president.

Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has said he would prioritise fixing Nigeria’s challenges over trying to win everyone’s approval if given the opportunity to become president.

Obi made the statement while stressing that effective leadership sometimes requires taking difficult decisions, even when such actions may not be popular with everyone.

According to him, his focus would be on addressing the country’s economic challenges, creating employment opportunities and improving the means of livelihood for Nigerians.

“If I become President tomorrow, some people will not be happy with me. It’s not about pleasing people, it is about fixing the country so that people can have jobs and means of livelihood. I can assure people that I will be in charge and I will change this country,” Obi said.

The former governor maintained that leadership should be measured by its ability to deliver meaningful improvements in the lives of citizens rather than by how popular a leader remains.

His comments come amid ongoing discussions about Nigeria’s economic situation, unemployment and the need for stronger leadership capable of creating opportunities for citizens.
