“I don’t see a celebrity bigger than me in Nigeria” – Verydarkman

  • Verydarkman has claimed that he does not see any Nigerian celebrity as bigger than him, saying he measures greatness by impact and the number of people who have benefited from an individual.
  • The activist said he is more interested in the impact people have on society, particularly the number of people who have benefited from their actions.

Nigerian social activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman, has declared that he does not consider any Nigerian celebrity bigger than him, arguing that his influence should be measured by the number of people he has impacted rather than wealth or material possessions.

Verydarkman made the statement while explaining his definition of success and influence, insisting that money, cars and houses are not the standards he uses to determine who is “big”.

“I swear to God, for the whole Nigeria, I don’t see a celebrity that’s bigger than me. I keep saying it one million times. Call anybody’s name. Because when you think about bigger, una dey look money, una dey look car, una dey look house. Those are not what I… those are not my own balance. That’s not what I look as big.”

The activist said he is more interested in the impact people have on society, particularly the number of people who have benefited from their actions.

“I want to know who don impact. How many people don’t benefit from you. How many don’t talk say ‘na because of this guy thing happen’. I’m not their mate. We are not on the same level.”

His remarks have sparked mixed reactions online, with some users agreeing that influence should not be measured by wealth, while others accused him of becoming increasingly boastful.
