Nigerian comedian I Go Save has responded to the backlash and threats from some social media users calling for the cancellation of his upcoming show.
The comedian, whose real name is Oghenekowhoyan Onaibe, addressed the controversy while making it clear that he would not allow online criticism or bullying to intimidate him.
I Go Save said he is not Real Warri Pikin and, therefore, would not be pressured into backing down because of the criticism directed at him.
“I’m not Real Warri Pikin, and I don’t succumb to b√lly|ng. If you guys think the b√lly|ng will get to me, it won’t,” he said.
He further criticised those he accused of becoming particularly active on social media whenever there was an opportunity to bring someone down.
According to the comedian, the focus should instead be on supporting initiatives that could contribute positively to the development of Delta State.
He also pointed to the efforts of the Delta State Government to attract investors into the state, questioning why some people would choose to create negative publicity around events taking place there.
“It’s only when it comes to bringing people down that you become active on social media. The Delta State Governor is doing everything possible to attract investors, yet look at what you people are doing,” I Go Save added.
His remarks have since generated reactions online, with social media users divided over the controversy surrounding his show and the calls for its cancellation.
