“It Was A Bad Idea To Invite VeryDarkMan To NBA Conference”- Nigerian Lawyer Reacts
- A Nigerian lawyer has criticized the NBA’s decision to invite VeryDarkMan (VDM) to its Annual General Conference.
- The lawyer questions VDM’s suitability for the event.
- Concerns are raised about VDM’s lack of professional expertise in the legal field.

A Nigerian lawyer has criticised the decision by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) to invite controversial social media personality VeryDarkMan (VDM) to its Annual General Conference.
The lawyer questioned VDM’s suitability for the event, arguing that he does not have the professional expertise required to contribute meaningfully to discussions in the legal field.
According to the legal practitioner, VDM’s previous comments and stance towards judges and the judiciary also make his invitation inappropriate for a gathering of legal professionals.
“It was a bad idea to bring VeryDarkMan to the NBA Annual General Conference because he is not an expert in that field. He doesn’t have regard for judges and the judiciary,” the lawyer said.
The lawyer further suggested that D English Alhaji would have been a more suitable guest for the conference, despite acknowledging that he is also not a legal expert.
“D English Alhaji is the kind of person that should have been invited. Even though he is not an expert, he knows more,” he added.
He went on to dismiss the contribution VDM would make at the event, stating, “Whatever VDM will say here is garbage.”
The comments have sparked reactions online, with the debate centred on whether social media personalities should be invited to professional gatherings such as the NBA Annual General Conference and what role they should play in discussions concerning the legal profession and society.
