Jarvis explains why she shaved her hair after wedding speculation
Nigerian TikTok creator Amadou Elizabeth Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis, has debunked rumours that she shaved her hair as part of a traditional marriage rite following her wedding to fellow TikTok star Peller.
The social media personality addressed the speculation in a video shared online after pictures and videos showing her new hairstyle generated reactions from fans and followers.
Jarvis explained that her decision to cut her hair had nothing to do with any traditional requirement associated with her marriage.
According to the content creator, she shaved her hair simply because her hairstylist recommended it to achieve a better hair installation.
The TikTok star also expressed happiness following the completion of her wedding ceremonies, saying she was proud of herself and her husband.
“The wedding is finally over and I’m super happy. I’m proud of myself and my husband,” Jarvis said.
Addressing those who believed that her haircut was connected to tribal marriage customs, she dismissed the claims and urged people to stop speculating about the reason behind her appearance.
“For those of you speculating that I barbed my hair for my wedding as part of some tribal marriage rites, shut up,” she said.
Jarvis went on to explain that she had been experiencing difficulties with her hair, particularly the front section, which affected the appearance and positioning of her frontal installation.
According to her, her hairstylist advised her to cut her hair so the installation would sit properly and achieve the desired appearance.
“I barbed my hair because I wanted my hair installation to be perfect. That is what my hair stylist recommended because I have a very stubborn hair,” she explained.
She added, “Most of my hair, like my frontal, has not been sitting pretty because of my front hair.”
The clarification has put to rest some of the speculation surrounding Jarvis’ wedding hairstyle, while also highlighting the level of attention her personal life receives from fans and social media users.
Jarvis and Peller recently became husband and wife after months of public interest in their relationship and wedding preparations.
The couple held their traditional wedding ceremony on August 1, 2026, an event that attracted significant attention across social media. Their traditional marriage was followed by their white wedding on Saturday, August 8, 2026.
The celebrations were widely discussed by fans, with many followers sharing pictures and videos from the ceremonies across TikTok, Instagram and other social media platforms.
Because Jarvis and Peller have built their careers primarily through social media entertainment, their relationship has attracted a particularly large online following.
Their journey from content creators and romantic partners to a married couple has become one of the most followed celebrity relationships among Nigerian TikTok audiences.
Jarvis’ haircut became another talking point because some social media users assumed that the change in her appearance was connected to cultural or traditional expectations surrounding marriage.
However, her explanation makes it clear that the hairstyle was based on personal grooming and professional hairstyling advice rather than a compulsory marriage ritual.
The content creator’s comments have also generated conversations about the tendency of social media users to judge celebrities based on appearances without knowing the circumstances behind them.
For many public figures, changes in hairstyle, clothing or lifestyle can quickly become subjects of speculation, especially when they occur around major personal events such as weddings.
In Jarvis’ case, the haircut was reportedly intended to make her wedding hairstyle and hair installation look better.
The TikTok star’s clarification comes shortly after she and Peller completed their wedding celebrations, allowing the couple to begin their new life together as husband and wife.
Their marriage has been widely celebrated by fans, who have followed their relationship closely and supported them throughout their journey.
As Jarvis and Peller settle into married life, attention is expected to remain on their relationship, social media content and future projects.
For now, Jarvis has made her position clear: she did not shave her hair because of a traditional marriage rite. Instead, she followed her hairstylist’s recommendation to achieve a better and more comfortable hair installation.
Her explanation has therefore put an end to one of the major rumours surrounding her recent wedding appearance while adding another interesting chapter to the highly publicised Jarvis and Peller wedding story.
