JD Vance Reveals Wife’s Influence On His Personal, Spiritual Journey

US Vice President JD Vance has opened up about the influence his wife, Usha Vance, had on his personal and spiritual journey, saying she cared more about the kind of man he became than the heights he reached professionally.

Vance made the comments in a preview of an interview with Fox News scheduled to air on Saturday, August 8, where he reflected on his return to Christianity and the role his family played in that process.

According to the vice president, Usha was never focused on whether he achieved the highest levels of career success. Instead, he said, her priority was simply for him to become a good person.

“She just wanted me to be a good man,” Vance said.

He explained that the same expectation eventually influenced his own desire to become a better husband and father.

“And I wanted to be a good husband and a good father,” he added.

Vance said his search for a stronger sense of purpose eventually led him back to Christianity, which he felt provided an answer to a longing he had been trying to understand.

“And I felt like Christianity answered that yearning better than anything else that I saw in the world,” he said.

He stressed that his return to faith developed gradually rather than through a single defining moment.

Usha has previously discussed her husband’s spiritual journey, while noting that she did not go through the same personal search for faith.
