Lekki Is Becoming the New Oshodi – Media Personality NaijaShimadun Raises Alarm Over Growing Thuggery in Lagos

• NaijaShimadun has expressed concern over the growing insecurity and alleged thuggery in Lekki, warning that the area is gradually becoming unsafe and calling on the Lagos State Government to intervene urgently.
• He also cautioned celebrities against openly flaunting wealth in the area, saying it could expose them to unnecessary risks as insecurity continues to rise.

Media personality NaijaShimadun has raised concerns over the rising level of thuggery and insecurity in Lagos, particularly around the Lekki axis, warning that the once-prestigious area is gradually becoming unsafe.

In a post shared on his social media page, NaijaShimadun claimed that the growing presence of thugs across different parts of Lekki poses a serious threat to residents, visitors and business owners. He urged the Lagos State Government to take immediate action before the situation deteriorates further.

According to him, “Lagos Island, especially the Lekki axis, is gradually becoming the new Oshodi. The Lekki axis is becoming increasingly dangerous, and while everyone sits back and relaxes, thugs are comfortably occupying different corners of the Island.”

He also criticised the increasing trend of celebrities using the area to display luxury lifestyles on social media without paying attention to the worsening security situation.

“Meanwhile, many of our celebrities are turning the area into a place to showcase their wealth and create social media hype, without realizing that they may be putting their lives and properties at risk.”

Calling for urgent intervention, he appealed to the authorities to address the growing menace before it spirals out of control.

“I am urging the Lagos State Government to urgently step in and do something about the growing presence of thugs and street violence across these areas before the situation gets completely out of hand.”

NaijaShimadun stressed that the issue affects everyone, regardless of status, adding that the safety of residents, visitors, businesses and workers around Lagos Island should never be taken for granted.
