PDP commends FG, Makinde over rescue of abducted Oyo schoolchildren, teachers

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has commended the Federal Government and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde over the rescue of the abducted schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.

In a statement, the Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, BoT, Adolphus Wabara, also hailed the security agencies for the rescue and safe return of the victims.

Wabara saluted the courage, gallantry, professionalism and strategic synergy displayed by the security agencies in overwhelming the abductors.

He particularly extolled Governor Makinde for his unrelenting efforts and exceptional leadership, especially in providing the essential administrative support for the tactical operation that led to the successful rescue.

The PDP BoT chairman charged the federal government to intensify efforts towards the rescue of other Nigerians, including children and women, who have been abducted in other parts of the country.

He also called on the federal and sub-national governments to strengthen efforts to ensure security in schools, communities and cities, particularly in areas where Nigerians have become soft targets.

“We urge Nigerians across the country to continue to be vigilant and work with the government and security agencies to further guarantee security in our country,” he said.
