2027: Katsina ADC Begins Grassroots Mobilisation For Atiku

The Katsina State coordinator of the Atiku Abubakar 2027 Presidential Campaign, Surajo Aminu-Makera, has said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has commenced grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Aminu-Makera spoke at the inaugural meeting of local government coordinators held at the Ahmad Babba Kaita Gubernatorial Campaign Office in Katsina.
The meeting, which had representatives from all 34 local government areas of the state, focused on strategies for mobilising support for the ADC across the state and the country ahead of the elections.
Aminu-Makera urged the coordinators to ensure a rancour-free campaign and comply with the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies.
He said the party had selected former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as its presidential candidate and Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita as its governorship candidate in Katsina State.
“I remain confident that the ADC has made the best choice by electing Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as its presidential flag bearer and also in Katsina State with Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita as the gubernatorial candidate,” he said.
He directed the local government coordinators to consult with stakeholders and appoint committed ward coordinators within 10 days.
The ward coordinators, he said, would subsequently appoint polling unit coordinators as part of efforts to establish a grassroots campaign structure across the state.
Aminu-Makera stressed that the selection of ward and polling unit coordinators should be based on trust and commitment to the ADC and carried out through broad consultations with party stakeholders in the respective local government areas.
He also announced that local government, ward and polling unit coordinators would soon be appointed for the campaign of Babba Kaita and the party’s National and State Assembly candidates.
He urged the coordinators, their support teams and party officials at all levels to work together towards the party’s success in the elections.
The spokesman for the Ahmad Babba Kaita Gubernatorial Campaign, Abubakar Ahmed, said the meeting was part of preparations for the official commencement of the ADC presidential campaign in Katsina State.
