Man Left Speechless After Female Friend Spent Almost All Her Money on Shawarma Despite Being Short of Cash
A Nigerian man has sparked an online conversation after sharing how his female colleague confidently spent almost all the money in her bank account on shawarma.
According to the man, the incident occurred while he was returning from work with his colleague, who had joined him in his car.
He said the woman asked him to stop at a shawarma shop, where she ordered food worth ₦7,000.
The man was reportedly surprised when he later noticed a bank notification on her phone showing that only ₦1,000 remained in her account after the purchase.
He questioned her decision to spend almost all her available money on a craving.
The woman reportedly explained that she had been craving shawarma for a long time and did not want to wait until the end of the month before satisfying herself.
“Omo, I have been craving Shawarma for a very long time. I cannot wait till month end abeg. I need to satisfy my cravings,” she reportedly told him.
The man admitted that he would find it difficult to make a similar financial decision, saying that even with ₦30,000 in his account, he would hesitate to spend ₦7,000 on a craving.
The incident has since sparked discussions online about personal finance and different attitudes towards spending.
While some may prefer to prioritise saving and maintaining a financial cushion, others believe it is reasonable to occasionally spend money on things that bring them happiness, even when funds are limited.
