The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Ogun State Branch, has welcome a new leadership, with the outgoing Chairman, George Onafowokan, Managing Director of Coleman Technical Industries Limited, handing over to Martins Awofisayo, Managing Director of Harvestfield Industries Limited.
The leadership transition took place during the private session of the association’s 41st Annual General Meeting (AGM), held at the Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) Marquee in Ogun State.
Speaking at the event, Onafowokan reflected on his four-year tenure, highlighting key achievements, including increased membership, improved subscription collections, stronger advocacy efforts and enhanced engagement with stakeholders.
He said the branch’s membership grew from about 290 companies to more than 360 under his leadership, describing the increase as a demonstration of members’ confidence in MAN as the foremost voice of manufacturers in Nigeria.
Onafowokan also disclosed that the branch maintained more than 100 per cent annual subscription collection throughout his tenure, attributing the performance to the commitment and loyalty of members.
“As I stand before you today, this 41st Annual General Meeting marks the conclusion of my tenure as Chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, Ogun State Branch, having had the rare privilege of serving this great branch for four eventful and fulfilling years,” he said.
He described the period as one of the most rewarding experiences of his professional career, noting that the administration strengthened advocacy and stakeholder engagement, expanded membership, improved subscription performance, defended manufacturers against unfair regulatory practices and enhanced the operational capacity of the branch secretariat.
According to him, the achievements recorded during the period were made possible through the collective efforts of the Branch Executive Committee, Branch Council members, past chairmen and the entire membership.
