‘Nobody Borrows Money More Than Married Women’ – Actress Juliet Cassie Urges Husbands to Take Responsibility for Their Families

Nollywood actress Juliet Cassie has urged married men to take greater responsibility for their wives and families, arguing that marriage and motherhood can sometimes leave women financially strained.

In a video shared online, the actress expressed concern over what she described as the financial difficulties many married women face, particularly those who were financially independent before marriage.

“Nobody borrows money more than married women. And I’m not even saying this from a place of insult. I’m saying it from a place of concern,” she said.

According to Cassie, the responsibilities that come with marriage and raising children can affect a woman’s ability to earn, save and manage her finances.

She therefore encouraged husbands to make life easier for their wives by providing essential household equipment and actively sharing domestic responsibilities.

The actress also criticised men who allegedly spend money on other women while neglecting their wives, describing such behaviour as a form of financial abuse.

Cassie warned that women may increasingly prioritise their careers or decide against marriage and motherhood if they perceive marriage as something that leaves them financially disadvantaged.

“Do not blame them if they choose not to get married or have children when they see no benefits to it,” she added.

Her comments have sparked conversations online about financial responsibility in marriage, gender roles, domestic responsibilities and the importance of mutual support between spouses.
