Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has charged members of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream 2 NYSC to uphold patriotism, resilience, discipline and selfless service during their service year.
Oborevwori gave the charge on Friday at the Opening and Swearing-In Ceremony held at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Issele-Uku, Aniocha LGA. He was represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Barr. Enodeh Brave.
The governor assured corps members that their welfare and security remain a priority, adding that government will continue to work with NYSC to provide a safe environment and improve camp facilities.
“In Delta State, we are building a stronger, more prosperous, and inclusive society through the M.O.R.E. Agenda, and we see you as partners in that vision,” he said.
Oborevwori urged the 2,028 registered corps members to take full advantage of the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme, noting that innovation and entrepreneurial skills are key to self-reliance and job creation.
Earlier, NYSC Delta Coordinator, Mr. John Kwaghe, said 949 males and 1,079 females were registered. He thanked the state government for donating 1,500 mattresses and appealed for renovation of the multipurpose hall and an additional industrial borehole.
