Osun ADC Guber Candidate Salaam Congratulates Adeleke, Urges Focus On Governance
The African Democratic Congress governorship candidate in the just-concluded election in Osun State, Dr Najeem Salam, has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election, calling on the governor to use his second term to consolidate gains and address areas where his administration may have fallen short.
In a congratulatory message issued on Sunday, the former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly said the outcome of the election was a reflection of the will of the people and must be respected by all political actors.
He stated that in every democratic process there would always be contestation and differing views, but what matters most is that citizens are given the opportunity to decide.
According to him, “the people of Osun have exercised that right and their decision deserves the support of all stakeholders.”
Salaam urged political leaders and supporters to embrace the spirit of Omoluabi and avoid actions that could threaten peace and unity in the state.
He stressed that politics should not be a do-or-die affair and that political differences should not be allowed to destroy brotherhood.
The ADC candidate called on “Governor Adeleke to see the renewed mandate as an opportunity for reflection, correction and improvement”.
He noted that governance is a continuous process and that every administration has areas that require attention to better serve the people.
