Osun Election 2026: Suspected Thugs Chase Voters, Disrupt Voting At Aregbesola’s Polling Unit

Voting was disrupted at the polling unit of former Osun State Governor and immediate past Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, following reports that suspected thugs chased voters away from the area.

The incident reportedly forced voters to leave the polling unit as the situation became tense, temporarily bringing the electoral process to a halt.

Some party agents alleged that the suspected thugs were members of the All Progressives Congress (APC). However, the party’s agent at the polling unit, Mrs Abogunloko Olufunke, denied the allegation.

According to her, “Those thugs are not our members. I don’t know them,” she claimed.

The disruption has raised concerns over the conduct of the governorship election at the affected polling unit, with details of the incident and the response of security agencies still awaited at the time of filing this report.
