The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has uploaded 402 polling-unit results from Saturday’s Osun State governorship election to its Result Viewing portal, leaving 3,361 of the state’s 3,763 units yet to be reflected as of 4:03 p.m..
The figure represents 10.68 per cent of the expected polling-unit results and gives voters, political parties, and election observers an early digital window into the outcome of the contest.
Data on the INEC Results Viewing Portal showed that the latest upload was recorded at 4:03 p.m. from polling unit 29/02/04/006, as the collation process continued across the state’s 30 local government areas.

The online figures are being monitored closely as election officials move from the conclusion of voting to the sorting, counting, and documentation of ballots at polling centres.
The IReV platform was introduced by INEC to allow polling-unit results to be viewed electronically and provide greater visibility during the collation process. Its Result Stats section updates as fresh results are uploaded, which thereby allows users to refresh the portal for new entries.
The early uploads come as attention shifts to the emerging figures after a day of voting marked by heavy security deployment and reports of tension at some locations.
New Daily Prime had earlier reported panic in Modakeke, Ife, after a video circulated showing people fleeing as police officers tried to control members of the public. The Osun State Police Command later said a tear-gas canister was discharged accidentally at a Registration Area Centre and announced the arrest of the officer involved.
The newspaper also reported an incident in Ikire involving Accord Party lawmaker Abiola Ibrahim, who was questioned by security personnel after about 146 people were found at a private residence. Ibrahim told the officers that those gathered were voters, while acknowledging that some were from outside the area.
The governorship race features incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, All Progressives Congress candidate Bola Oyebamiji, African Democratic Congress candidate Najeem Salaam and candidates of other political parties.
Adeleke, Oyebamiji, and Salaam all expressed confidence in victory after casting their ballots earlier in the day.
With only 402 of the 3,763 expected polling-unit results uploaded by 4:03pm, the figures on the portal are still too limited to indicate the likely winner.
Further uploads are expected as officials complete the collation and transmission of results from polling units across Osun State.
