President Mahama Reshuffles Some State Ministers, Announces New Appointments And Reassignments

President John Dramani Mahama has reshuffled some ministers of state, submitting new nominations and reassigning others to different portfolios.

According to a statement from the Presidency, the President, in accordance with Article 78(1) of the 1992 Constitution, has submitted the names of two nominees to Parliament through the Speaker for prior approval as Ministers of State.

The nominees are Dr. Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, MP, who has been nominated as Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, and Mahama Ayariga, MP, who has been nominated as Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.

The President also reassigned some ministers to new portfolios. Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei has been moved to the Ministry of Defence, while Ahmed Ibrahim, MP, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources.

The latest changes form part of President Mahama’s ongoing efforts to strengthen government operations and align ministers with new responsibilities.

The nominees are expected to undergo parliamentary vetting before their appointments can be approved and formally take effect.
