President Tinubu, Gov.Yusuf Mourn Hamza Darma, Visit Family

President Bola Tinubu and Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, have mourned the death of prominent Kano politician and elder statesman, Hamza Usman Darma.

Tinubu, through a high-powered delegation, condoled with the family of the deceased in Kano, describing Darma’s death as a great loss to Kano State and Nigeria.
The delegation comprised the Special Adviser to the President, Ibrahim Kabir Masari; Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin; and the governors of Yobe, Sokoto and Jigawa states.

The delegation also extended the Federal Government’s condolences to the Kano State Government and the people of the state over the death.

In a condolence message delivered by the Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, the delegation described Darma as a prominent political figure whose contributions to Kano State and the nation would be remembered.

The development was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesman, Sanusi Bature, on Sunday.

According to the statement, the delegation prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul and asked Allah to grant his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss.

Responding on behalf of the family, Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for sympathising with the people of Kano over Darma’s death.

Yusuf also paid a separate condolence visit to the deceased’s residence, where he met with members of the bereaved family and sympathised with them.

The governor described Darma as a respected elder whose contributions to public life, political development and community service earned him widespread respect.

He said the late politician would be remembered for his wealth of experience, wisdom and dedication to the progress and wellbeing of the people.

Yusuf urged the family, relatives, friends and associates of the deceased to take solace in the legacy he left behind.

He prayed to Allah to forgive Darma’s shortcomings, reward his good deeds with Aljannatul Firdaus and grant his family the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.

The governor also called on the people of Kano to emulate the late elder statesman’s commitment to service, compassion and community development.
