Russian missile and drone strikes on Ukraine’s capital and surrounding region have killed at least two people and wounded dozens more, authorities said, after fresh overnight attacks.
A 20-storey apartment building in Ukraine’s capital, Kiev, caught fire after a Russian air attack, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said, as explosions rang out across the city after midnight local time.
Russian forces launched waves of ballistic missiles, officials said.
Kiev’s military administration reported one woman killed and at least seven injured as fires broke out across four districts.
Another person was killed in Bucha district west of Kiev, while 21 others were injured across the surrounding region.
Ukrainian Air Force said missiles had been deployed from at least two different directions on the city.
