Saudi Arabia and Iran discuss efforts to reduce regional tensions

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi discussed the latest regional developments and diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions during a phone call on Sunday.

The call was received by Prince Faisal from Araghchi, according to a statement by the Saudi Foreign Ministry.

The ministry said the two ministers reviewed “the latest developments in light of the current situation”, alongside diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation.

Prince Faisal reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to continuing its regional role in promoting security and stability in a way that serves the shared interests of all countries and peoples in the region.
